Dating KG Murray's Superman All Color series

KG Murray's All Color Superman series began in 1976, superseding the long-running Superman Supacomic series as the main Superman title in their stable of Australian DC comics.

This is my attempt to date a series which ran for 20 issues over four years and varied in terms of its publishing schedule and format.

Superman #1 September 1976

Superman #2 c.November/December 1976

Superman #3 February 1977

Superman #4 May 1977

Superman #5 August 1977

Superman #6 c.November/December 1977

Superman #7 May 1978

Superman #8 c.September/October 1978

Superman #9 c.December 1978/January 1979

Superman #10 February 1979

Superman #11 April 1979

Superman #12 June 1979

Superman #13 August 1979

Superman #14 November 1979

Superman #15 c.February/March 1980

Superman #16 May 1980

Superman #17 c.June/July 1980

Superman #18 c.August/September 1980

Superman #19 c.October/November 1980

Superman #20 December 1980

Notes:

1. The dates are based on newsagency date markings, date stamps and combinations of advertisements.

2.  I have found corroborative evidence for many issues, in which case I've asserted the date.

3. Some issues have contradictory evidence, sometimes three months apart. In these instances I have designated a c. date, often with a two-month range.

4. The only issue for which I have no date evidence is #2, hence the two-month range based on the two issues either side of it.

5. I will update the dates as more data becomes available.

6. This series appears to have been on a quarterly schedule before it became bi-monthly, more or less.

7. This review was prompted by a conversation with James, who said he was unsure about the dating of this series. The dates ascribed above broadly accord with the dates on AusReprints, with some variance towards the end of the run.
